Review of Big Stone Gap (2014) by Keri W — 13 Oct 2015
An old-fashioned, feel-good film with uniformly fine performances set against a gorgeous backdrop. No wonder the critics don't like it. And no, it isn't completely predictable....and even when it is, ithe events feel "inevitable and necessary," as good old Aristotle suggests in Poetics.
Listen to the audience on this one; not the critics. [Full disclosure. I love Virginia].
