Review of Beijing Bicycle (2001) by Blanka G — 16 May 2008
Strongly inspired by Vittorio De Sica's "Bicycle Thieves" but still very chinese... Shows a contrast between a young nongminggong trying to earn a living in Beijing working as an bicycle-courier and a student of prestigious high school interested in cycling.
It's a nice movie... but I've found it less interesting than "Bicycle Thieves".
