Review of Beasts of No Nation (2015) by Bill B — 15 Oct 2015
This film exceeds because it takes a topic that has hardly been touched (child military service) and shows it through the lens of an actual kid. His performance is unbelivably awe-inspiring and outshines Idris Elba by a mile.
The plot is swift, the diologue terrifying, and the visuals and sound are beautiful, even in the bloody carnage. I doubt this will be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, but it might. This kid will definitely get nominated for Best or Supporting Actor, though.
