Review of Barb Wire (1996) by Alex P — 18 Mar 2014
This is one of those movies that's so bad its good. In a post apocalyptic, scifi world of 2017 Barb Wire(Pam Anderson) is a bad ass for hire. The story is largely borrowed from Casablanca, with Barb in place of Rick Blaine and her old flame Axel in place of Ilsa Lund.
However this movie has more retinal scans and motorcycles with rocket launchers. Some of the action scenes are good. Some of the dialog is so bad I cant tell if its unintentional or parody. Toward the end there is a funny scene where the main bad guy becomes a complete, sadistic, tittering lunatic.
I kind of like Chaiken's version of post apocalyptic America. Oh, and did I mention it has Pam Anderson.
