Review of Bajirao Mastani (2015) by Jasmin I — 16 Jun 2016

I love the lead pair but I just can't ignore how thin the 'love story' was. I think the writer and director relied too heavily upon the fact that the actors are a known couple and so felt no need to establish any connection in the film itself.

I dislike Priyanka off screen and usually avoid her in everyday life but I found her the only likeable character in a film where you feel like you missed the beginning, the part that would make the film make sense, the part that makes the characters journeys worth it.

Great acting by all but wasted in this shell of a film which took creative liberties galore with historical facts.
