Review of Await Further Instructions (2018) by Timbob B — 06 Oct 2018
I enjoyed the film, it was well acted and the effects provoked nostalgia for late '70s early '80s sci fi special effects which was pleasantly received on my end, the dialogue however was very simple and the backgrounds of the characters were not fully explored but it didn't deduct from the experience.
The progress of events tends to be metaphorical rather than reflecting real life reactions from people who would find theirselves in such a situation kind of like Mother in that respect. I think the film is a critique of religion and a satire of its effects on ancient and modern day socities, however the movie isn't concerned with the question of God's existence, it is irrelevant here whether God exists or not, yet the ending still confirms that the need for worshiping is hardwired in our minds by something whether it is by people's nature or by something else which is unknown to us.
