Review of Avalanche Express (1979) by Matthew L — 11 Dec 2010
A complete mess of a film, probably not helped by the death of Shaw and director Robson (info courtesy of Chuck O'Leary below). The film had a lot of potential to be a solid cold war thriller but makes no sense and lumbers along from one poorly thought out scene to the next.
The basic plot is that Robert Shaw is defecting from Soviet Russia and rather than simply fly him there as quickly as possible, Marvin decides to take him via train ALL over Europe to flush out any sleeper spies.
