Review of Autumn Spring (2001) by Harley H — 06 Jun 2007
I agree with the other critics, this is definitely the most odscure movie I own, and actually I have two copies of it because I feared I lost the original. this movie is one of my favourite foreign films to watch over and over again.
This movie deals with the difficulty of old age and death in a way I only hope to aspire in doing the same when I'm in my seventies. It's not quick paced and shouldn't be so as it's not American.
..I mean truly, life isn't all one speed and why should we yearn for a movie as such? This film follows the pranks fo a man not willing to lay down and die and while him and his best friend plot to fake their own deaths, it's just something that grabs you and makes you question the civility of our present age and the cliches every aging soul must grapple against or with.
If ever you want to borrow one of my copies just ask me...
