Review of Arbitrage (2012) by Alvin Y — 28 Nov 2012
If something matters more than what your life chooses to be, then you always get what you want. I think that's fairly clear enough to explain the lesson and message of this film. Gere is superb as a businessman, husband, father, friend, lover, or maybe, an enemy? I don't think there was an enemy to Robert Miller, only he thinks, people trusts him so much that making an embarrassment to them would ruin its companionship for them.
I also liked the way the film doesn't depend on some action scenes or resolutions that would affect even the innocent people, instead, it ends on a one musical note, in which whether he wins or lose.
This is one of the best movie/thriller of 2012. Some would disagree on me for this one. Think of what would Hitchcock made if he's still lives today. A movie that shows us how a rich person can get away on all his accusations but smart enough to cover it up.
