Review of Another Earth (2011) by Ben R — 31 Dec 2012
A beautiful film. The shots lead us to think as protagonist Rhoda Williams, making it very natural to see and understand what she thinks and feels without her saying much at all. This film is built on empathy.
In the final portion of the of film, as we approached the climax and I didn't know how it would all come together, I suddenly relaxed, trusting the filmmakers entirely: everything that I had seen until that point had given me cause to believe that they knew what they were doing and that they would not tear down what they had built up. My trust was rewarded.
