Review of ...And God Created Woman (1956) by Ki M — 07 Mar 2012
Artistically important in the grand scheme of cinema and 1950s stifling censorious nature. It's basically B-movie super-director/producer who places his wife of the time up on the screen and shows us how beautiful she is.
And yes, Vadim had great taste in women. Brigitte Bardot is so hot and stacked and goddamn those commie censor fucks for not allowing us to see any frank nudity here, but it did push the staid standards of the day when it came out for it's daring (but now very tame) sexuality and flesh and somewhere there is a story and a plot told that is melodramatic and involves three men all related to each other in one way or another who try to sack Bardot.
Visually appealing but ultimately a dated and slightly boring piece unless you don't mind staring at Bardot's body (even if it is clothed for most of it) for the entire 90 or so minutes.
