I have to start by saying how much this movie touched me. Growing up with a single mother who struggled to make ends meet, and often had little to no money for the basic necessities was difficult, but it was our reality.
This movie is very REAL and that's what I loved about it, this film deserves more than a 39%, it's a story about love no matter how disfunctional between a mother and a daughter, about survival and growth.
What a great film to start off with Katie, I hope you continue to make more films like this!
