Review of All Square (2018) by Matt M — 12 Oct 2018
A poignant, yet comedic, film that deals with a myriad of real life issues and an unlikely, friendly relationship between a man and his ex-girlfriend's son. There is a fantastic synergy between lead characters Zibs (Michael Kelly) and Brian Houston (Jesse Rae Sheps).
Both are very believable in their roles and expertly deal with their character's individual and combined struggles. Sheps does a fantastic job as a boy who obviously has a tough life and tries to find some solace through the game of baseball and his unlikely friendship with Zibs.
Sheps' perfect facial expressions, depressed tone and melancholy demeanor are perfect and draw the viewer into his character and doesn't let go. I have a strong feeling we haven't seen the last of Jesse Rae Sheps! He is a natural, up and coming talent who should not be missed!
