Review of Aakrosh (2010) by Utkarsh B — 14 Oct 2010
In one line - A Prakash Jha-wannabe film. Priyadarshan should research his matter (in this case a social issue) before attempting to depict it. Even the 'amateur' LSD has a much more mature approach on the same issue.
The movie is atrociously long and uses unnecessary gore to capture the audience's attention. The SP and the collector (normally a 6+ year experienced IAS / IPS officer) are shown as some paan-waalas.
A police SP taking bribe in front of the CBI and then threatening a Central Govt. CBI officer, are some of the gems. And if this is Bihar they are depicting, they surely have got the caste game quite wrong.
On the upside, it does have some blood-rushing shots and good controlled performances by the protagonists.
