Review of A Tale of Springtime (1990) by Frank P — 01 Jan 2008
This is as close as cinema gets to life. Human interaction is portrayed with utmost naturalness that the film is almost unbearably intense - exactly because it is so real. There is no caricature or chance encounter.
No character acts according to plot or react to a particular motif. Everything flows as time passes by. Make the film a study of civility, personal reflection, and awareness of others. In an era where filmmakers try so hard to entertain their audiences, we ought to cherish films like this.
It's an absolute masterpiece.
