Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Markus A — 08 Sep 2015
This movie is as much of a crime-drama as it is a thought provoking statement on business and it manages to do both splendidly. The performances by Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain and Albert Brooks are all terrific, and all of the other supporting players are great too.
The music is ominous and helps build suspense as it manages to fit the mood of each scene. J.C. Chandor's steady direction is also something holding this movie up above a lot of other movies within the same genre.
I highly recommend "A Most Violent Year" to anyone looking for a great movie.
