Review of A Christmas Prince (2017) by Dann M — 14 Feb 2018
The original Netflix film A Christmas Prince is a rather bland and cheesy romantic comedy. Rose Mclver stars as an aspiring reporter who gets her big break when she's assigned to cover the Christmas coronation of an elusive playboy prince who may abdicate the throne, and to get the scoop she goes undercover as a tutor for his younger sister.
Mclver gives a serviceable performance, but she doesn't have a lot to work with; as the writing is poor and her co-stars don't bringing anything. And the plot pretty much telegraphs where it's going from the very start, leaving no mystery or suspense.
A Christmas Prince has a bit of charm to it, but it's poorly executed and has no passion.
