Review of A Better Life (2011) by Aldo S — 05 Oct 2011
This is my kind of movie. It is art and it is beautiful. The story of a father-son relationship going through the Mexican immigrant experience in L.A. The dialogue is so realistic of a teenager and the power of a loving father is demonstrated so beautifully and simply, that one cannot help but be moved to feel deeper than you thought you were capable of feeling.
Art should make us feel something and this film does that. The acting is ridiculous! Both lead males should get awards. Demain Bichir and Jose Julian. Perfect soundtrack, a mix of cool urban hip-hop, and lovley Mexican solos of mandolin, guitar and electronics.
Very emotional film. Don't miss it.
