Review of 1922 (2017) by Semtex_Steve — 14 Jan 2018
Good movie that stays relatively true to the original story, apart from the very end scene when I was expecting the Ghost Busters theme to play (but the original one - I'm not that mean). Very good lead actor, but they should have gotten into his head a bit more for his reasoning behind the crime - it was ultimately an evil act, but hearing the his thoughts in the written version made me understand - if not sympathise - his crime a little more.
Overall I found it a very enjoyable film - a horror that gets under your skin without forcing jump scares down your throat every five minutes. The cheesy ending didn't change anything important about how the story ultimately ends, though I do feel that people might find it all a bit dull if they haven't read King's version first.
