Review of XXY (2007) by Kevin T — 08 Mar 2013

This film is groundbreaking on so many levels. The subject matter (the first film to respectfully and intelligently address an issue as delicate as intersex identity), the effortlessly perfect cinematography, and the intensely personal acting all coalesce into one of the best films I've seen to date.

There are some challenging scenes throughout, so I encourage any interested to be aware. Ultimately though, Puenzo has created a beautiful film that sheds light onto a group of people previously ignored in film.
