Review of Wonderland (1999) by Kurt P — 27 Dec 2008
There are two sides to every story; in this case there appears to be at least three. Dylan McDermott was excellent in both roles, sympathetic biker who lost the love of his life and homicidal maniac who doesn't love anyone or anything except drugs and money.
Val Kilmer, as usual, delivers. He plays John Holmes and is either a loser, petty crook so desperate for his next fix that he is willing to set up a party buddy regardless of dangerous he may be, or his is a hapless victim of hanging out with the wrong crowd.
Lisa Kudrow is amazing as Holmes' ex-wife, the only person in the entire film that Holmes is unable to manipulate or exploit, and it is her flashback at the end of the film that may be the most accurate.
If you have never seen this film, see it!
