Review of Wisconsin Death Trip (1999) by Jen H — 07 Jun 2010
Michael Lesy always wanted his book to be a film. These short stories from the turn of the 20th century are indicative of a pathetic mindset that still exists in the Midwest today, especially Wisconsin.
The film adaptation was done in a way that mirrors the intent of the book, without resorting to outright explanation of the ideas it provokes (unfortunately for those with lack of insight). As a past resident of Wisconsin, I found none of these stories surprising.
