Review of Winchester '73 (1950) by Matthew R — 03 Jun 2008
It's really interesting how the story follows the gun, but isn't actually about the gun at all. It's a really clever way to connect and develop the characters. Unfortunately the end "twist" was ruined by the Netflix DVD description, but the story was still riveting.
Stewart is the man. When he grabs Dan Duryea at the bar, it's like he becomes a completely different person. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Anthony Mann-Jimmy Stewart westerns.
