Review of Wilde (1997) by Subha A — 02 Jun 2007
There was a lot of criticism over the fact that the film focused on Wilde's life rather than his work, but I personally thought it was a refreshing approach. Wilde is known so much for his work and his wit,.
But this movie portrays Wilde as a man and does a great job in humanizing him. Stephen Fry also turns in a brilliant performance as Wilde, and Jude Law's performance as the cruelly selfish Bosie really complemented Fry's performance.
