Review of Wilde (1997) by Seth H — 25 Jun 2007
I had been a big fan of Stephen Fry's comedy work and was blown away by the extremely subtle portrayal he gives here of Oscar Wilde. His work is so nuanced and completely subverts what we expect from a film about Oscar Wilde.
Instead of witty quips we're given a much more realistic version of the man as someone struggling with how to remain true to himself and play a part in his times.
