Review of Wild Boys of the Road (1933) by Curtis R — 17 Jun 2008
Before Gorcey, Halop, Dean, and Dillon there was Darro and this is one of his best. Grittingly realistic depiction of the Depression Era seen through the eyes of three teenagers forced to become train hobos to find work.
Darro provides some of his comedic charm in this but for the most part this movie is serious. Look for cameo by Sterling(Winnie the Pooh)Holloway as one of the lost youths who bears a remarkable resemblance to Huntz Hall.
