Review of Wicked Minds (2003) by J K — 12 Jun 2010
I know noir and this is NOT a noir film. This isn't even dark. Angie Everhart is a con artist who seduces then frames her step-son for his own father's murder. It's on Lifetime! I don't give a rat's ass if I anger the feminists but any movie that appears on Lifetime is NOT a noir picture.
A good noir picture is dark, foreboding, sad, tragic, usually black-and-white (hence the term noir) and starring some actor or actress who is convincing as a tragic character. Whoever is billing this film as such is either clueless on movies or just clueless in general.
Angie Everhart is so adorable but she is one of the all-time worst actresses. Rent Another 9 1/2 Weeks or the second Tales from the Crypt movie with Dennis Miller. Not necessarily the most riveting movie and certainly one of those movies where you're left feeling bored.
(And yes, I watch Lifetime, if there's sex involved I'll watch it).
