Boring, drawn-out Fassbinder victimization movie where the ending's pretty obvious after about ten minutes. Still, there's one scene in it where a guy works himself into a frenzy and practically tosses himself down a flight of stairs while foaming at the mouth, only stopping when his step-mother slaps him in the face twenty or so times in a row; it probably doesn't sound very funny, but it's one of the most hilarious things Fassbinder ever directed.
