Review of Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden? (2008) by Jordon J — 29 Aug 2008
It really has very little to do with Osama bin Laden and everything to do with everyone else in the middle east. Morgan Spurlock provides a thoughtful and interesting portrait of these people our government and media have done wonders to dehumanize.
The film also illuminates the USA's direct involvement in the destabilization of the region. There is no mystery why the middle east is home to the west's greatest enemies. This dangerous hatred is the direct product of America's tampering. Hopefully Spurlock's incendiary title will draw in people who would benefit from the lessons he has to provide, as they are generally the people who don't seek out education.
The movie suffers some from an overuse of splashy CG animation that only manages to cheapen the important content the film has to share. Probably a product of Spurlock's attempt to draw in people who generally don't watch documentaries.
