Review of What Richard Did (2012) by Sinéad C — 05 Oct 2012
I loved it. My teenage daughter loved it, and although our 'teenager-doms' are more than thirty years apart I connected with the characters as much as she did. This film took me and dipped me back into the emotional soup of my youth.
It is rich, flavoursome and very, very real, and I want to see it again. The incident around which the film is loosely based in fact (but reproduced precisely in spirit), is well represented. The young actors were truly great, the writing was top class, and dublin never looked so good (if a bit chilly, I did think that the actors looked quite cold at times).
Wonderful, entertaining, film, I highly recommend it.
