A lot more attention will be paid to this if Abrahamson walks away with an Oscar next month. This coming of age tale is where the director came of age.
It's a slow-burner; indeed not a lot happens in the first 30 minutes. However it all comes to the boil and is an excellent portrayal of raw grief and guilt. A film that leaves an impression.
