Review of Welcome to the Rileys (2010) by Ellteeem — 28 Oct 2010
Welcome to the Rileys is an elegantly shot, character-driven drama that won't soon leave you. The film is fraught with subtleties, and in Scott's able hands each frame reads like a painting. The film's greatest strength, however, is the actors.
Stewart's portrayal of a vulgar and crass Mallory doesn't disappoint; she is raw, honest, and often endearing -- truly multidimensional. Gandolfini and Leo's performances are equally impressive; their chemistry is quiet and electric.
This film will bring you to tears, but don't be surprised if you find yourself giggling, too.
