Review of Welcome to Happiness (2016) by Scott F — 20 Jun 2016
Happened into an afternoon screening of this movie at Cinema Village. Decided to go because of Keegan-Michael Key, and although he's hilarious as usual, I found the movie very enjoyable for many other reasons, not the least of which is Kyle Gallner (I know him from somewhere too?) whose Woody is such a sweet, kind-hearted soul, the kind you don't see on screen very often anymore, which makes his dark-knight of the soul even harder to watch.
The film can at times feel a bit light, but as a fantasy - set in modern day - that seems appropriate. Plus it's just got so much heart!
