Review of Weekend (2011) by Veritable V — 19 Mar 2013
Want to watch an intelligent romantic film with superb performances? Weekend is all that--as well as a meditation on the ways in which gay men deal with living in a culture that is indifferent or sometimes hostile to their personal lives and affections.
This film is not a "gay" movie, but a movie about two people who happen to be gay. Whatever your persuasion, you should watch Weekend if you want to see a great movie about how a brief, intense romance can change your perspective on life completely.
It's on Netflix instant view, but the film is also (and I think deservedly) a newer entry in the Criterion Collection.
