Review of We Live in Public (2009) by Maine G — 17 Apr 2010
An interesting documentary. I kinda wished there was more of the last 20 minutes spread throughout the movie (talking about where we're at now), but the whole thing does work by giving a sort of prophetic warning via Josh Harris.
I thought the Quiet experiment was the most interesting -- what happens to us as individuals and a collective group, and even our capability for intimacy, when we surrender privacy. Crazy stuff.
Personally, I find myself craving privacy more and more as the world becomes more public. I've started to feel more protective of my private life. And I hope I can maintain that desire, because I certainly don't want to end up fulfilling Harris' predictions.
