Review of Viva Cuba (2005) by Art S — 23 Jan 2008
The only good thing about this movie is that it gives you a chance to hear people speaking Spanish in a Cuban accent (so unless that's what you're looking for, I don't recommend it). Yes, it was sweet that the kids were so attached to each other but first of all their journey was pretty far-fetched and not believable, and second of all the plot really isn't that deep: I got the feeling that there was supposed to be some kind of reconciliation between the families of different classes, but there are only one or two scenes where progress is shown since the main focus is on the kids' journey.
I did, however, love the scenery as they trek through Cuba.
