Review of Unrelated (2008) by Gordon A — 25 Feb 2009
Poignant study of trying to belong but always feeling on the periphery. Set in a french getaway, the lead tries to capture the spirit of rebellious youth she never experienced but struggles to marry that with the reality of her adult maturity and its implications.
Rare foray into Gallic cinema territory by an english director which feels genuine.
