Freely shedding any convention of narrative, Uncle Boonmee is more preoccupied with reveling in the world its created rather than spinning a tale in it. Each element of the film is given to us like a puzzle, suggesting a range of human experiences- death/life, nature/humanity, beaty/illusion, political/personal, past/present/future- without ever taking a position on any of them.
Instead, it's a quiet meditation, inviting us to join. It's a transcendant film, using one man's soul as conduit to take us through time and space.
