Review of Twenty (2015) by Steve W — 28 Apr 2015
Twenty starts out like most teen flicks would usually, with three buddies who have graduated high school and are looking to get laid. But underneath the basic slacker comedy, is a very heartfelt coming of age tale for out three protagonists.
The film covers the themes of family, relationships, responsibility, and becoming more mature. Especially effective is Kim Woo-Bin, a womanizer slacker who has a lot of hilarious scenes. Painfully funny would describe the film's climax, in which the young adults decide to fight against some nasty loan sharks, and it results one of the funniest slow motion scenes in cinema history.
Twenty is about getting older, but taking what life gives you one moment at a time. The film's ending also could leave off for a sequel, (they join the army) but I doubt a sequel will happen, even though it should.
