How can a movie this seemingly shallow (boy goes out to get a boy for the night) end up being so touching and romantic and sweet and innocent? Who knows, but this is really an old-fashioned love story that proves a first kiss can sometimes be the best ending to the third act.
As many a 1950 romantic films have showed us.
