Review of Trash Humpers (2010) by Matt S — 19 Dec 2010
I believe that Harmony Korine believes he is a genuinely transgressive cinematic auteur. The maturity he showed with his previous feature "Mister Lonely" proved he CAN make a good movie, but for the steps forward he took with that film, he leaps a million miles backwards with "Trash Humpers.".
Undoubtedly inspired by the experimental films of Andy Warhol, the only good thing I can say about this "movie" is that it is mercifully short. Without Korine's reputation (as it is), this kind of bullshit could never get any kind of distribution or be taken seriously.
