Review of Torment (2013) by Andy G — 31 Oct 2014
Katharine Isabelle stars in the dark thriller Torment. When a newly married couple takes their son to their country house they end up being hunted by a backwater cult. The film does an impressive job at creating tension and atmosphere, but the characters aren't developed very well.
The son in particular is unsympathetic and doesn't seem worth the effort his parents go through to save him. And the ending is painfully cliche, with the villain popping up for one last scare/twist.
Still, Torment has enough creepiness and disturbing imagery to delivery some chills.
