Review of Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) by Janne Y — 06 Nov 2007
The best and perhaps only great alternative to the soggy piece of crap "Pearl Harbor", Tora Tora Tora seems to do it with both style and accuracy, a rare combination in many modern films. Having both an American and a Japanese crew, much more attention could be paid to portraying both sides, which is exactly what this film does.
Remarkable insight is given into the planning of the December 7, 1941 suprise attack by Yamamoto, Genda, and Nagumo, as well as the sheer ignorance on the part of General Short and Ambassador Grew, as well as the rest of the intelligence staff.
This movie is a must see for all World War Two buffs.
