Review of Tom Horn (1980) by Larry S — 28 Feb 2008
In his weakened condition, McQueen brings much of his recognisably contained good humour to one his final roles. Rockford Files director William Wiard finds time to build a storyline around a rough miscarriage of justice, where everyone of McQueen's grizzled movements bring just the slightest hint of disclosure to his own glittering life.
Tom Horn will not rehsape the entire Western genre, nor will it leave a bleamish upon McQueen's distinguished career, it's a nice way to dramatically exit a genre where actor and big screen had such a powerfully reciprocal relationship.
