Review of Tim (1979) by Jonathan P — 02 Dec 2013
Tim is a odd story of a mentally challenged young man (played wonderfully by Mel Gibson) and an older woman who fall in love amid personal and family crisis. Mel Gibson shines in one of his earliest roles as the love seeking mentally challenged young man.
It is easy to say shades of what was to come as Gibson gives a heartfelt believable performance in his quest to find love with the motherly Piper Laurie. Tim isn't a great film but the opportunity to see a young Aussie actor who would soon become a star give a real performance for love of the craft and not money is more than enough reason to seek out Tim.
