Review of THX 1138 (1971) by Rodney E — 09 Oct 2008
The first film of George Lucas is crammed with vision. A perfect society is created where everyone has a number and has feelings controlled by drugs makes this film seem like Sci-fi literature come to life.
The sound design by Walter Murch is really sweet. The revamp from Lucas is pretty damn good. Here Robert Duvall is the drone who defies his society and attempts to escape after being impirisoned for having sex.
The white sets are awesome. The actual escape and tunnel sequence is impressive and the editing is similar to how Star Wars is.
