Review of This Is England (2007) by Paulajade S — 18 Mar 2009
Best british film since trainspotting in my opinion, the story is about a young boy shaun (Thomas Torgoose) who gets bullied and is felt sorry and took under the wing of Woody (Joseph Gilgun). While Thather was prime minister men died under the Falklands war including shauns dad.
The leader of the gang Combo(Stephen Graham) as just come out of prison on a 3 half year sentence. This film is about Racism Leadership in the early 80s and think Meadows has crafted a master peice as involves a touch of comedy essence too.
The whole set of the film was outstanding too and took me back. Shaun also gives a presence of pity and cant help feeling for the boy and shone throughout the movie. My opinion a Must See film people will have their own opinions and say its a bit contraversal.
