Review of Thinking XXX (2004) by Darryl K — 26 Jan 2011
I liked this documentary. It was very insightful as to the life that porn stars live and the likely lives they grew up with to get to this point. But to be honest it was a little sad. I felt an atmosphere of resignation in each persons voice that seemed to colour the concept of porn as either art or simply acceptable fun while in the same light as dead end jobs or the un-educated.
Add to that the fact that porn stars are sick and tired (and a little sore) of sex when they get home to their lover and don't get to enjoy wild romps of passion with them due to sex burn out. With all that said, I think they left out too much.
We didn't hear from Ron Jeremy at all and there were no negative comments on past porn stars or people who were trying to avoid that portion of their lives (Traci Lords, you should have had a bit to say in this documentary).
