Review of Thinking XXX (2004) by Matthew L — 26 Jun 2011
The documentary surrounding the making of a book featuring 30 porn stars in the same pose, whilst being nude in one and clothed in the other. Featuring a host of talking heads, all of whom contributed a chapter to the book and offering some incites from some of the 'stars', why they do pornography and how they got into pornography.
I can't help but feel that this a a largely sanitised look at the adult industry, after all most of the performers featured are all big names in the industry, some of them even household names, so there seems to be a deliberate avoidance of the seedier side of the industry.
I don't feel that this offers any real insight into the industry but it certainly allowed the performers to present themselves in a more realistic, and maybe sympathetic, light on screen then they normally would.
