Review of The Wizard of Gore (1970) by A.d. V — 29 Aug 2008
The Wizard of Gore is by no means the perfect blood and guts film from notorious director Herschell Gordon Lewis, but it sure is one heck of a fun time. The story Lewis gives to the audience is actually a rather intriguing story, which is sometimes not the case for a film like this.
Ray Sager is bloody entertaining as Montag the Magnificent. The rest of the acting is neither good nor entertaining, just funny in a bad way, which only adds to the great campiness of this film. As should be expected, all the gore is buckets of fun.
This isn't the best effort from HG Lewis but it still is a very fun film.
